Should have gone to Specsavers ... well, I did because the staff in there are excellent! They are really thorough and although I am sure they go through the same procedure a hundred times a day they are always very attentive. I think I like the Boathouse for the food but itâ¬"s probably the view you can enjoy whilst your dining that makes a big difference for me. The fish dishes are very good quality and for the prices, extremely reasonable in my opinion. Great village pub in the seaside resort of Western Ho. We stayed here, and the accommodation as well as the pub impressed us very much. It is family run by Stuart and Julie who fill the place with their friendly personalities. It has a really nice atmosphere, mainly aided by the fantastic service and friendly staff. The juke box has a brilliant selection of songs that echo back to the 50s, so something for everyone. I had a few in the Appledore Inn the other day and I would sum it up as a cosy and small town pub, quite basic really. However it was pleasant with a friendly landlady and served Jollyboat Freeboater, Country Life Old Appledore Ale and Bays Gold. We had one of the best rooms with a panoramic sea view that was the icing on the cake. The facilities are good and they have an onsite bar- always a bonus.
